Halloween Gumball Canister

Hi friends,

Have you seen these cute little gumball canisters at Hobby Lobby? They’ve had them for several different seasons and I scored this black one for 90% off from the Spring season. I had a fun idea for turning it into a Halloween Gumball Canister. 🎃👻

I picked up some unfinished wood blocks that measure 1.25 inches and 1.5 inches and orange and white acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby. Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and black vinyl, I cut out some Jack-O-Lantern and Ghost faces. I found my designs in Cricut Design Space.

I painted my blocks with 2 coats of each color using a foam brush, letting it dry between coats. Once completely dry, I used transfer tape and a scraper to apply the faces to the blocks. I scrunched up about half of a piece of black card stock and placed it in the bottom of the canister. Then I added my little Jack-O-Lanterns and Ghosts randomly in the canister. I tied some Halloween ribbons in a knot around the canister to finish it off.

Isn’t it cute?!?!? 🎃👻

I ended up with more Jack-O-Lanterns and Ghosts than would fit in the canister, but these little guys would also be so cute on a tiered tray or used as bowl filler to add to your spooky decor. 🎃👻
