Oh Holy Night – September 2023 Christmas Card

Hi friends,

September’s Christmas card is a clean and simple one focusing on the reason for the season. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I have been creating a Christmas card each month and making several of the design to be ready for the holiday season. You can find my previous designs here – January, February, March, April, May, June, July, and August.

I used the Build Your Holiday Cardmakers Sketch Challenge #37 for creating this month’s card. It worked perfectly to highlight my stamped image.

The nativity stamp is from the All is Calm set from Unity Stamp Company. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock. To get a dark, crisp image, I used my MISTI Stamping Tool and stamped the image several times. The MISTI allows you to re-ink your stamp and re-stamp over the image as many times as you want to, keeping it lined up perfectly. It’s a great tool to have in your craft room.

I die cut around the image using the Scallops & Circles Nesting Dies from Unity Stamp Company. Then using a Blender Brush from Taylored Expressions, I brushed the circle with blue ink.

I embossed a piece of white card stock with a poinsettia embossing folder (similar to this) and attached it to a white card. I embossed a piece of navy card stock with the Quatrefoil embossing folder from Taylored Expressions and attached it over the white embossed piece. Then I attached the stamped image to the card with foam tape.

I really love the way this card turned out! The stamped image is the focal point of the card reminding us that the reason we are celebrating is because of the birth of Jesus. Clean and simple cards are quick and easy to create, but they can also be beautiful!
