My Vintage-Inspired Christmas Tree

Hi friends,

I added a new tree to my Christmas decor this year and I wanted to take a minute to share it with you. I hope that in the busyness of shopping, wrapping, baking, cooking, and all the other things this month that you have a had chance to take a few moments and just enjoy the season.🎄

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

My tree is a prelit 5-foot tree that I have tucked away in the corner of my kitchen. I was inspired to add a special tree by some beautiful vintage-look mercury glass ornaments that I have in 2 different sizes.

Of course, my tree needed a tree skirt and a star. 😊 I crocheted the tree skirt using the medium size from this pattern from Briana K. Designs. The star was made using this pattern from Milla Billa. By using chunky yarn for the star, it made it much bigger than the size listed in the pattern.

I used Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion yarn in Ivory with an N/9mm crochet hook to stitch up both the tree skirt and the star. For the star tree topper, I crocheted 2 stars and single crocheted them together, leaving the bottom open to slip over the top of the tree. I used 4 skeins of yarn to make both the tree skirt and the star topper and I even had enough left over to make a simple garland of chain stitches.

I really love having this little tree in my kitchen! If you want to stitch up your own tree skirt or star tree topper, just pin this post to your Christmas Pinterest board to remind you to make it for next year.😊

Merry Christmas!🎄

Peanut Butter Pie

Hi friends,

Do you have peanut butter fans in your family? Need a quick and easy dessert for the Christmas gatherings next week? You need to make this yummy Peanut Butter Pie! You can find the recipe here at Passionate Penny Pincher.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

You only need 6 ingredients to make this pie and it’s really quick to make. The crust is made from Oreos and butter – you can even make it a gluten free dessert by using gluten free Oreos.

You make the Oreo crust, bake it for 5-7 minutes, and let it cool. Then mix the rest of the ingredients together and spread it into the cooled crust. Chill for a couple of hours and it’s ready to serve! You can even make it the day before and just leave it in the fridge until you are ready for dessert.

I took this to a Christmas potluck so I wasn’t able to get a picture of a piece cut from the pie. But you can see a pic and get the full recipe here.

If you love peanut butter, you will not be disappointed in this Peanut Butter Pie!

Beyond Grateful – Handmade Card

Hi friends,

Recently, our wonderful pastor retired and he and his lovely wife moved to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Although we were very sad to see them go, we are so very thankful for the years they were with us! This is the card I made for them to say thank you from our congregation.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I used the Serene Silhouettes stamp set from Unity Stamp Company to create my card. First, I used blender brushes to apply turquoise and green ink to white card stock. I stamped several different tree images with Memento Rich Cocoa ink at varying heights onto the panel. I stamped the sentiment with turquoise ink. I die cut around the panel using these Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies and layered it to turquoise card stock die cut with the same set. The piece is attached to a white card using foam tape. To finish the card, I added 3 turquoise Dew Drops.

This card can also be used for different occasions just by changing the sentiment. I think it would make a great masculine birthday card!

Simple Christmas Arrangement

Hi friends,

I made this little Christmas arrangement in just a few minutes and I love the way it turned out! 🎄

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I had this cute hammered aluminum pitcher from a sweet friend that I wanted to decorate for Christmas. It measures about 10 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter.

I bought a couple of greenery sprays from Target along with a few red berry stems and 2 white berry stems from Hobby Lobby. I also bought a floral foam cylinder to use in my arrangement.

Using a serrated knife, I cut the cylinder in half and pushed it into the bottom of my pitcher. Then I trimmed a little off the stems of the greenery and pushed them into the foam cylinder. I arranged the red and white berries among the greenery and pushed the stems into the foam cylinder. Then I “fluffed” the individual stems of the greenery and berries around each other.

To finish off the arrangement, I tied some natural colored linen ribbon around the pitcher in a bow.

Super quick and easy to put together! And although I’m not the best at flower arranging, I really do love how this turned out! 😊 Look in your cabinets – you may have the perfect pitcher or vase to dress up for the holidays.🎄

{happy birthday} – Handmade Card

Hi friends,

This Succulent Greetings stamp from Unity Stamp Company makes a beautiful card. The image measures 3 by 3.5 inches and can be used for so many different occasions.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored it with the Copic markers in the picture below.

Using this Deckle & Stitches Nesting Die Set, I die cut around the image and layered it to red card stock die cut with the same set. I die cut dark green card stock with the same set and attached it to a white card. The stamped image is attached to the card using foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment with black ink on white card stock, die cut around it with the Scalloped & Stitches Sentiment Nesting Dies, and attached it to the card at an angle. This sentiment stamp is one I’ve had in my collection forever! Use your favorite greeting sentiment when you make your card. To finish the card, I added 3 light blue Dew Drops.

This is a fun image to color and can be done in so many different ways! Just by changing the sentiment, the card can be used for so much more than a birthday – thinking of you, just a note, sympathy, or leave the sentiment off completely and you’ll still have a beautiful card.

Joyful Christmas – December 2024 Christmas Card

Hi friends,

December is always such a busy month! This month’s Christmas card is quick and easy so you can get busy with all the other things that need to get done. 🙂 🎄

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

You can find each month’s Christmas card creation in these posts: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, and November.

I stamped the Christmas tree image with green ink on white card stock and die cut around it with the matching die. Both stamp and die are from the 2024 Advent Calendar from Unity Stamp Company. As of writing this post, there are still stamp Advent Calendars available, but the dies have sold out. You can also use any smaller Christmas stamp you have in your collection to make your card.

Using foam tape, I attached my stamped image to a Scalloped Tag die cut from red card stock. I tied white/gold bakers twine to the top of the tag.

To make the card I embossed a piece of green card stock with a berry vine embossing folder (this is similar) and attached it to a white card. I embossed a strip of white card stock with a dot embossing folder and attached it to the card. The tag is attached to the card using foam tape.

A super quick and easy card to finish off the year of creating a few Christmas cards each month! I think I’ll do this again next year! 🙂 🎄

Crochet Candy Cane Pillow

Hi friends,

I found this adorable crochet pattern for this Crochet Candy Cane Pillow at Just Be Crafty and knew I had to make it! It works up really fast because it’s made with super bulky yarn and is great for beginners and seasoned crocheters, too. 😊

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I used Yarn Bee Cozy Occasion yarn in White and Magenta (not sure what it’s called magenta 🤷‍♀️ – it really is more of a red) with an N/9mm hook to stitch up my Candy Cane Pillow. The pattern called for a different yarn and a 10mm hook so my Candy Cane Pillow came out a little smaller. The finished size of mine is about 14 inches tall with a circumference of about 9.5 inches. Still a fun size to use in your decor!

I was able to make 2 Candy Cane Pillows using one skein of each color with enough left over for possibly one more – but I wasn’t up to playing yarn chicken to find out! You’ll also need to poly-fil to stuff your pillows as you go.

You can easily make one of these Crochet Candy Cane Pillows in an evening while you’re watching your favorite Christmas movie! 🎄
