Crochet Floret Stitch Dishcloth

Hi friends,

Crochet dishcloths are a great way to learn and practice new stitches. They also make great little “just thinking of you” gifts. The floret stitch is an easy 2 row pattern repeat that’s great for beginners.

I stitched up my dishcloths using I Love This Cotton Yarn in Turquoise and Khaki with an H/5mm crochet hook. The super easy pattern is below along with free PDFs – one with photos and one without – if you’d like to easily print it.

Crochet Floret Stitch Dishcloth

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn – I used I Love This Cotton yarn in Turquoise and Khaki

H/5mm crochet hook

Stitches used in US terms:

Chain – ch

Double Crochet – dc

Slip Stitch – ss

Single Crochet – sc

Chain 22.

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook. (3 skipped ch count as a dc stitch). dc in each ch across. Turn. (20 stitches)

Row 2: ch 1 (does not count as a stitch) dc in 1st, ss in next stitch. *dc in next stitch, ss in next stitch* Repeat from *to* across. (Your last ss will be in the top of the ch 3 from the previous row.) Turn. (20 stitches)

Row 3: ch 3 (counts as a dc) dc in first dc and in each stitch across. Turn. (20 stitches)

Rows 4-15: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 (6) times. (20 stitches)

Do Not Turn at the end of Row 15.

Border:

Ch 1. sc evenly around, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with ss to 1st sc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finished dishcloth measures about 6.5 by 6.75  inches.

Here are the links to the free PDFs…

Don’t forget that because the dishcloths are made with cotton yarn, they also make great spa cloths!😊

I think the crochet floret stitch would also make a beautiful blanket or scarf. Make your starting chain in multiples of 2 plus 2 to start and crochet as many rows as you’d like. You can also use any yarn you’d like – just adjust your hook size to the yarn you choose.

Fall Birthday Gnome – Handmade Card

Hi friends,

This cute little gnome makes the best Fall birthday card! He’s from the stamp set called Lil’ Cozy Keeper from Unity Stamp Company and the set also includes 2 Fall sentiment stamps. My happy birthday stamp is from the set called Extended Celebration also from Unity Stamp Company.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stamped the gnome with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white card stock and colored him with Copic markers. Using these Deckle & Stitched Nesting Dies, I die cut around the image. I applied light blue ink around the image using a blender brush.

I stamped the sentiment with orange ink on white card stock and die cut around it with these Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment Nesting Dies. Then I applied light blue ink around the edges with a blender brush.

To make the card, I attached a piece of orange card stock to a white card. I die cut a piece of polka dot patterned paper with the Deckle & Stitched Nesting Dies and attached it to the card. I attached the gnome image to the card at an angle using foam tape and attached the sentiment to the top right corner also with foam tape.

This little guy is a cute, fun way to send all kinds of Fall greetings! 🍁🍂🍁

Flourless Banana Oatmeal Muffins

Hi friends,

I’m always looking for healthier breakfast options that I can make ahead and put in the freezer.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

These Banana Oatmeal Muffins are made with no flour or added sugar and are so yummy! (There is natural sugar from the bananas and applesauce.)😋 You can find the recipe here.

The only thing I did differently from the recipe as it is written was to add a teaspoon of vanilla and some mini semisweet chocolate chips. Of course the chocolate chips added a bit of extra sugar to the muffins but so worth it for the extra flavor! 😉

Here are the muffins ready to go in the oven…

And fresh and hot from the oven!

You can store the Banana Oatmeal Muffins in the fridge for up to 3 days or wrap them individually in plastic wrap and put them in a freezer bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Either way you store them, you can pop them in the microwave when you are ready to enjoy them. The muffins not only make a great breakfast, but also a healthier tasty after school treat! 😋

October Crochet Infinity Scarf 💕

Hi friends,

In October we wear Pink! 💕 As you probably know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink is the color associated with it. I designed the October Crochet Infinity Scarf in honor of all those women who have fought and will fight against this horrible disease and especially for my family and friends who have bravely waged their battles.💕

If you are a woman over 40, I encourage you to schedule a mammogram. It doesn’t take long, it’s not too uncomfortable, and it could save your life. I just had mine – now it’s your turn!💕

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

The scarf is stitched up using worsted weight yarn and an I/5.5mm hook. I used I Love This Yarn in Pink for my scarf. It’s an easy pattern using double crochet, chain stitch, and a little single crochet. You can find the pattern below and also a links to free PDFs – one with photos and one without – if you’d like to easily print it.

I started the scarf with a row of Foundation Single Crochet. This is a great tutorial for learning this stitch if you need it.

October Crochet Infinity Scarf

Worsted weight yarn (about 7 ounces) – I used I Love This Yarn in Pink

I/5.5mm crochet hook

Stitches used in US terms:

Chain – ch

Foundation single crochet – fsc

Single crochet – sc

Double crochet – dc

Special Stitch: Double V-stitch (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same stitch – dv-stitch

Slip stitch – ss

Note: chain 2 at beginning of rows counts as a double crochet.

Row 1: work 34 fsc. Turn. (34 stitches) OR ch 35, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (34 stitches)

Row 2: ch 2 (counts as 1st dc). Skip 1st stitch, dc in next stitch. Skip next 2 stitches, work dv-stitch in next stitch. *Skip next 4 stitches, work dv-stitch.* Repeat from * to *  5 times. Skip next 2 stitches, dc in last 2 stitches. Turn. (6 dv-stitches with 2 dc at each end.)

Row 3: ch 2 (counts as 1st dc). Skip 1st stitch, dc in next stitch. Work dv-stitch in ch 1 space of each dv-stitch from previous row across. dc in last 2 stitches. Turn. (6 dv-stitches with 2 dc at each end.)

Repeat Row 3 until scarf measures about 60 inches.

Last row: ch 1. sc in each stitch and ch 1 space across. (34 stitches)

Fold scarf in half and ss ends together.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

This is a great pattern for beginners as well as seasoned crocheters. And if Pink is not your color, you can make it in any color you choose. It would also make a great gift! 💕

Quick and Easy Fall Treat Bag Tags

Hi friends,

I love to give little treat bags in the Fall. This super easy to make tag will work for October all the way through Thanksgiving. 🍁🍂🍁

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

All you need is some kraft and orange card stock and a couple of your favorite Fall stamps. I’ve had the stamps I used on my tags forever – I’m not even sure where they came from.🤷‍♀️ Any little pumpkin, leaf, or other Fall image you have in your collection will work great. You can add your favorite Halloween or Fall sentiment or no sentiment at all.

I stamped my pumpkin and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on kraft card stock and punched around them with an oval punch (similar to this). I layered it to orange card stock punched with a scalloped oval punch (similar to this).

I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the tag and used orange/white bakers twine to tie it onto little clear treat bags filled with candy.

Handmade tags add a little something extra to those bags filled with treats! 😊

Peek-a-Boo Halloween Kitty – Handmade Card

Hi friends,

This little kitty peeking from behind the pumpkins isn’t scary at all! 🐈‍⬛🎃 He’s not even sure about saying “boo?” 😁

The cute little kitty with the pumpkins is from the stamp set called Hey There Pumpkin from Unity Stamp Company. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white card stock and colored him with Copic markers. I stamped “boo?” with black ink onto the panel – it’s from the stamp set called a Tiny Witch from Unity Stamp Company.

Using these Deckle & Stitches Nesting Dies, I die cut around the image. I layered black, orange, and black card stock cut with the same die set to a white card and attached the stamped piece on the top.

This little kitty is a fun cute way to send Halloween greetings! 🐈‍⬛🎃

Hey There Pumpkin – Handmade Card

Hi friends,

Hey There Pumpkin! 🎃 This card is so fun to make. He’s a fun image to color and I love his cute little face.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

He’s from the stamp set called Hey There Pumpkin from Unity Stamp Company. The set includes 3 more images and 2 sentiments.

I stamped the pumpkin with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white card stock and colored it with Copic markers. Using these Scallops & Squares Nesting Dies, I die cut around the image and layered it to orange card stock cut with the same die set.

I stamped the sentiment with black ink and die cut around it with these Scalloped & Stitched Sentiments Nesting Dies.

To make the card, I added a piece of black polka dot patterned paper to a white card. The pumpkin image is attached to the card with the sentiment attached at an angle over the top left corner. I added 3 gold sequins for a little bling. 🎃

I think he would also look so cute with a lime green hat! 💚

Millionaire’s Shortbread from Jane’s Patisserie

Hi friends,

I shared in this post about the NYC Chocolate Chip Cookies from Jane’s Patisserie that my husband made for my birthday. I said in that post that he made 2 recipes from her Jane’s Patisserie Cookbook. The 2nd yummy treat was this Millionaire’s Shortbread – you can also find this recipe on her blog. 😋

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

This is the beginning of my husband’s baking adventure – complete with his mug of coffee. 😊

The shortbread layer mixed together and fresh from the oven…

He had a little trouble with the caramel layer and I didn’t get a picture of it. It wasn’t burnt and tasted yummy, it just didn’t look quite right. We weren’t sure if it would work out but we went ahead and spread it over the shortbread anyway. Jane has some tips to help on this step in her recipe.

We put the caramel covered shortbread in the fridge and hoped for the best!

After about an hour, he melted the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chips and swirled them over the top. Back to the fridge for an hour or so and here are the finished Millionaire’s Shortbread bars. Oh! My! Goodness!!! They are so good!!! 😋 They took me right back to Scotland and eating this yummy treat on the streets of Edinburgh!

These treats didn’t turn out quite as pretty as the ones from Jane’s Patisserie, but they were made with a lot of love and were so yummy! 🥰

Little Crochet Halloween Pumpkins

Hi friends,

I stitched up my Crochet Pumpkin pattern into cute Little Halloween Pumpkins! 🎃

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

You can find my original Crochet Pumpkin pattern here. For my Halloween Pumpkins, I followed the same pattern with just a couple of changes in the number of stitches in the starting chain and number of rows.

I used Beginner Bee Yarn from Hobby Lobby in Orange, Purple, and Black with a G/4mm crochet hook to stitch up my Halloween pumpkins.

For the Orange pumpkin, I chained 21 to start and then followed my pattern for 31 rows. For the Purple pumpkin, I chained 16 to start and then followed my pattern for 27 rows. For the Black pumpkin, I chained 12 to start and then followed my pattern for 21 rows. All of the pumpkins are finished in the same way according to the pattern.

I glued little sticks from my yard for my pumpkin stems. I tied twine in a bow around the stems to finish them off. (These are similar to what I used orange/black bakers twine, orange/white bakers twine, purple twine)

These pumpkins are much smaller than my original pumpkin which measures about 6 inches across by 3.5 inches high. The Orange pumpkin measures about 3.75 inches across by 2.5 inches high. The Purple pumpkin measures about 3 inches across by 2 inches high. And the Black pumpkin measures about 2.5 inches across by 1.5 inches high.

My Crochet Pumpkin pattern is so versatile! Just by changing the yarn and size of your crochet hook, you can make a whole pumpkin patch of different size pumpkins. I think I need to make one with blanket yarn. 😊
