Almond Meltaway Cookies

Hi friends,

A couple of weeks ago we had a Ladies Tea at church. It’s always a sweet time when all of us to get together and it’s made even sweeter by all the yummy treats everyone brings to share.

We had the choice of bringing a sweet or savory treat…and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know that baking something sweet would be my choice! 😋

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I found the recipe for these amazing Almond Meltaway Cookies here on The Novice Chef. They are really easy to make and are so good with a hot cup of tea or coffee.

The dough is thick and a little sticky. I formed my cookies with my hands. To keep the dough from sticking, I kept a bowl of water close by to dip my fingers in.

Here they are ready for the oven. I highly recommend using silicone baking mats when you are baking just about any type of cookie! They keep your cookies from sticking to the baking sheet and are easy to clean – no need for parchment paper or cooking spray.

These tasty cookies are husband approved. In his words, “Hmm – these are really good!”

If you’re not an almond flavor fan, I’m thinking these cookies would be really good substituting vanilla extract for the almond extract or maybe even lemon extract. I’ll have to try one of those next time…

Happy Baking!

Happy, Happy Day

Hi friends,

Cute hedgehogs make me smile. 🙂 And this one is no exception. He’s part of the Hoppy & Hedgie stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. The set also includes a cute bunny and 2 sentiment stamps. It’s great set for making fun birthday cards.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stamped the hedgehog with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I used a cloud stencil similar to this and Blender Brushes from Taylored Expressions with blue ink to make the clouds. I punched a strip of blue card stock with a scalloped border punch and attached it to the side of the stamped piece. Then I attached a strip of patterned paper behind the strip of blue. The entire piece is attached to a yellow card. (This is my favorite adhesive and here are the refills.)

I stamped the sentiment with red ink on white card stock and trimmed it close. I attached it to the card with foam tape.

I think both the hedgehog and the bunny would also make great baby cards. 🙂

Happy Stamping!

Crochet Spring Stripes Can Cozy

Hi friends,

I am so ready for Spring! I know that living in Alabama, we don’t experience the Winter weather like so many of my northern friends do, although this Winter has been more dreary and rainy than usual – but I’m still ready for sunshine and warm breezes! ☀️

I used my favorite I Love This Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby in White and Aqua and an H/5mm hook to stitch up my cozy. (These are my favorite hooks if you are looking for some.)

Rustic Farmhouse Easter Bunny

Hi friends,

I found this cute, chunky wood bunny at Hobby Lobby and knew I had to bring her home to play. 🐰

I started by brushing on some espresso stain I had left over from another project and wiping the excess off with a soft cloth. Then I brushed on some Americana DecoArt Chalky Finish paint in Everlasting (white). I didn’t cover the surface completely because I wanted some of the stained finish to show through to give it that rustic feel.

Here’s the bunny after I brushed on the stain.

Here she is after brushing on the white chalk paint.

I’m terrible at making bows so you can imagine my excitement when I found this super easy way to make bows at Re-fabbed – so simple even I can do it! 😉 I made the bow using 5 different ribbons and hot glued it to her neck. To finish her, I added a 1-inch white pom pom to her tail.

Such a cute and easy addition to your Easter (or everyday) decor!

Happy Crafting!

Bunny Clips

Hi friends,

I have a fun little Easter craft for you today. These cute Bunny Clips are super easy to make and would be great to make with the kids.

You’ll need some fun foam sheets in your favorite colors – I found mine at Hobby Lobby, some scrapbook paper to match, wood clothespins, 1/4-inch white pom poms, and a bunny die. The die I used has been discontinued but this set has 3 different bunny silhouettes that would be so cute. This is also a cute set from The Scrapping Cottage.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Cut strips of scrapbook paper to fit the clothespins and glue them to the clothespins. I used this tape runner that I use for all of my paper crafting, but white craft glue or Mod Podge would work as well. Die cut the bunnies from the fun foam and attach to the clothespins. I used the same tape runner to glue on the bunnies. Attach a white pom pom for their cute little tails. I found the best adhesive for this was clear E6000 glue. It seemed to work best adhering the two materials together.

I made about 45 of these in just a couple of hours – they come together so quickly! I’m planning to use these cute Bunny Clips on Easter treat bags. They would also be cute attached to Easter baskets or would be fun to hold place cards on your Easter table. Or maybe clipped onto a napkin ring. What will you use them for?

Happy Crafting!

Enjoy Your Birthday

Hi friends,

Unity Stamp Company has done it again! They have THE BEST stamp sets and this one does not disappoint! It’s called A Little Mousy and includes 5 adorable little mice for different occasions along with 5 tiny sentiments and 3 extra accessory stamps.

I used the cute little mouse with the balloon to create this quick and easy birthday card.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stamped the mouse with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I die cut the image with a circle die. I used a stencil similar to this one and these great Blender Brushes from Taylored Expressions with green ink to add the grass to the image. I also used the Blender Brushes to brush on some light blue ink for the sky. I layered the image to a scalloped circle die cut from green card stock.

I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Hoppy & Hedgie set by Unity Stamp Company, with green ink on white card stock and trimmed it close. I added a piece of patterned paper to a turquoise card. Both the stamped mouse and the sentiment are added to the card with foam tape.

You can make so many cards for different occasions with this set – everything from Christmas to Birthday to New Baby and more! You can see a Christmas thank you card that I made with this set in this post.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday to You

Hi friends,

I have the cutest little Koala Bear birthday card to share with you today! 🎈

This adorable little guy is from the Koala-ty Friend stamp set by Unity Stamp Company. The set includes another sweet Koala stamp – a mama hugging her baby, tiny birds, and 2 sentiments. (The birthday sentiment I used on the card is not from this set. It’s one I’ve had for a long time – I’m not sure what company it is from. 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

To make the card, I stamped the Koala with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored the image with Copic Markers. I used a cloud stencil (similar to this one) with light blue ink and these amazing Blender Brushes from Taylored Expressions to add the clouds around the Koala. Then I layered the stamped piece to red card stock.

I stamped the birthday sentiment with red ink on white card stock, die cut it with a scalloped oval, and layered it to an oval die cut from turquoise card stock. If you are looking for scalloped oval dies, this is a great set. And here’s a good oval set.

I attached a panel of patterned paper to a white card – this is my favorite adhesive for card making. (Refills for the applicator are also available.) The paper came from the Love is in the Air paper pack from Unity Stamp Company. Then I attached the stamped piece over the patterned paper. The sentiment is attached to the card with foam tape.

I love the way this simple card turned out! That little Koala is just so cute! 🎈

Happy Stamping,

Anita
