Christmas Lollipop Ornaments

Hi friends,

I hope you are enjoying Christmas in July! šŸŽ„ The month is going by so quickly, but I wanted to be sure to share this fun Lollipop Ornament with you before it’s over.

They are fun and easy to make and you can make several in just a short amount of time.

You’ll need some 2 or 2.5 inch chipboard circles. I found mine at Hobby Lobby in a package with 3 different sizes. You’ll also need some red/white bakers twine and lollipop sticks. (These wood circles would also work great if you can’t find chipboard circles. This is another option for the twine.) You’ll also want some 3 by 4 inch clear treat bags to wrap your lollipops and white baker’s twine to tie the bag closed.

To make your lollipops, add some craft glue that dries clear in the center of your chipboard circle. (I used this glue – don’t let the “glitter” in the name scare you, it works great for so much more than adding glitter to your projects!) Make a little coil with your red/white baker’s twine and place it in the center of the circle. Continue wrapping the twine around the circle, adding glue as you go to secure it, until you cover the entire chipboard circle. Cut the twine and secure the end with a dot of glue. Your circle will look like the picture below.

Once the glue is dry, flip your circle over and glue your lollipop stick to the back as shown below.

Slip your lollipop into the treat bag and tie it closed with white baker’s twine. Tie it with a double knot and then tie it into a bow. Cut a small length of white baker’s twine for the hanger and tie the ends together into a knot. Glue the loop to the back of the lollipop directly to the treat bag. I used E6000 glue for this step.

There are lots of different colors of baker’s twine so you can make a whole rainbow of Christmas Lollipop Ornaments. šŸ™‚ (This is a fun assortment of twine colors.)

These sweet ornaments would make a great package tie on. You can also leave off the hanging loop and put a bunch of these together in a glass container for a cute decoration on your table or tiered tray.

Happy Crafting!

Anita
