Dollar Tree Valentine Candles

Hi friends,

I’m sure you’ve seen these white glass jar candles at Dollar Tree. They are the perfect blank canvas for decorating inexpensively for any holiday or season.

I wanted to do a little something with them for Valentine’s Day. ❤️ I love the look of all things Rae Dunn and found this fun font at dafont.com that is very similar. It’s called The Skinny and you can download it for free.

I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 and Cricut Design Space to make my words and hearts with pink and red permanent vinyl. I sized my letters to be about 1.5 inches tall and sized the hearts to match. You can find the hearts in the shapes category in Cricut Design Space.

One thing I’ve found helpful when making the vinyl stickers is to use the my Cricut burnishing tool on the sticker before weeding off the excess vinyl around my words. It seems to make it easier – and with The Skinny font it really helped to separate the letters from the rest of the vinyl.

After weeding the excess vinyl, I used transfer tape to add my stickers to the candles. Again, I burnished the stickers well before removing the transfer tape from the candles.

And here they are! The pink is actually a little darker than it looks in the photo. 😊 I really like the way they turned out! ❤️

I am by no means an expert with my Cricut machine! But there are tons of videos out there to help us learn all the things. I’m beginning to feel a little less intimidated by it. 😉
