Hi friends,

I found this fun Yarn Bee Cotton XXL yarn on clearance at Hobby Lobby. It’s bulky weight (5), has a great texture, and is so soft! I thought it would work nicely for some type of facial/spa cloth and came up with this super easy to make Crochet Chunky Cotton Facial Square.

I used an N/9mm crochet hook to stitch up my facial squares. It’s an easy beginner pattern that only takes a few minutes to make. The finished square measure about 4.25 by 4.25 inches so it’s a nice size – not too big, not too small. The pattern is below along with a link to a free PDF if you’d like to easily print it.

Yarn Bee Cotton XXL yarn

N/9mm crochet hook

Stitches used in US terms:

Chain – ch

Single Crochet – sc 

Slip Stitch – ss

Ch 10.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1. *skip next ch, sc in next ch, ch 1* Repeat from * to * across to last 2 chains. Skip next ch, sc in last ch. ch 1 and Turn. (5 sc and 4 ch 1 spaces)

Row 2: sc in the 1st sc, sc in the next ch 1 space. *ch 1, sc in next ch 1 space.* Repeat from * to * last sc, sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (6 sc and 3 ch 1 spaces)

Row 3: sc in the 1st sc. *ch 1, sc in next ch 1 space* Repeat from * to * to the last 2 sc . ch 1, skip 1 sc, and sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (5 sc and 4 ch 1 spaces)

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 twice. 

Repeat Row 2 once more. 

Do not turn after last Row. 

Border

Round 1: ch 1. sc evenly around working 3 sc in each corner. Join with ss to first sc. 

Fasten off and weave in ends

Crochet Chunky Cotton Facial Square measures approximately 4.25 by 4.25 inches.

I think the colors I used are discontinued since they were on clearance, but the website shows the yarn is available in 8 other colors. Any bulky weight cotton yarn will work to make the Crochet Chunky Cotton Facial Squares.

These facial squares would make a great gift! Tie a few together with a pretty ribbon and add them to a basket with her favorite face wash. I created a simple label that you can print and cut into strips to wrap around your facial squares for gifting.
