Hi friends,
I have never been very good at keeping plants alive and thriving – especially in the Summer heat of Alabama. ☀️

I decided to try some faux flowers this year and I have to say, we have been pleasantly surprised on how they look on our porch.

I purchased these faux Petunias from Amazon and I was quite skeptical when they arrived vacuum sealed in the package below. 😳 I did have to spend some time fluffing up each individual flower, but after rubbing each petal between my thumb and finger they opened up nicely. The set I got included 24 stems – 6 of 4 different colors – for about $22.00 (of course prices on Amazon can always change). I bought 2 sets of flowers because I had 2 pots I wanted to fill. Each of my pots measures about 10 inches in diameter.

Using these styrofoam half balls, I arranged the flowers by simply pushing the stem of each bunch into the styrofoam. Then I dropped the arrangements into the pots. They fit fairly tightly into the pots so I don’t think we need to worry about wind blowing them away. 😉

The flowers are supposed to be UV resistant and are meant for outdoors. As I write this, it’s raining heavily and they seem to be holding up under it well. Maybe I’ll have colorful flowers all Summer long this year. 🙂
Anita
