We are still keeping hand sanitizer close by and this Crochet Candy Cane Hand Sanitizer Holder adds a little fun to something we all need to do. 🙂 It will also make a great stocking stuffer or a cute little friend or neighbor gift!

It holds a mini bottle of hand sanitizer and buttons around your purse or backpack strap. It’s made with cotton yarn so it is washable (I used I Love This Cotton) and it works up super quickly.

I Love This Cotton yarn – White and Red

H/5mm hook

1/2-inch button

Stitches used in US terms:

Chain – ch

Slip Stitch – ss

Single Crochet- sc

Note: DO NOT cut yarn when changing colors. Carry the yarn on the inside of your work. This saves you from weaving in a lot of ends when you are finished.

Chain 12 with Red. Join with ss to first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch 1. sc same stitch as ss and in each ch around. Join with ss to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 2: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss. *2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch.* Repeat from * to * 4 times. 2 sc in last stitch. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)

Change to White.

Rounds 3-4: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss and in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)

Change to Red.

Rounds 5-6: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss and in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)

Change to White.

Rounds 7-8: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss and in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)

Change to Red.

Rounds 9-10: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss and in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)

Change to White.

Rounds 11-12: ch 1. sc in same stitch as ss and in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (18 stitches)
