I saw this amazing Yarn Bee Arabella yarn at Hobby Lobby and I had to bring it home with me! It’s a bulky (5) weight yarn in 55% cotton and 45% acrylic and it is so soft!! This colorway is called Foxtrot Fella and it is perfect for Fall makes.

I designed a crochet pattern for a simple Fall Cup Cozy that works up quickly. I used a J/6mm hook to stitch up my cozies – I was able to get 3 cozies out of this 3.5 ounce/105 yard skein.

The center rows of my pattern are crocheted in the 3rd loop of the hdc. If you need help with this, here is a great video from Moogly to show you how.

Crochet Fall Cup Cozy

Bulky Weight yarn (5) – approximately 30-32 yards – I used Yarn Bee Arabella yarn in Foxtrot Fella (it’s 55%cotton and 45% acrylic)

J/6mm hook

Stitches used in US terms:
Chain – ch
Slip Stitch – ss
Single Crochet – sc
Half Double Crochet – hdc

Note: Rounds 5-7 are crocheted in the 3rd loop of the stitch in the previous row.

Chain 28. Being careful not to twist chain, join with ss to first ch.

Round 1: ch 1. sc in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (28 stitches)

Rounds 2-4: ch 1. hdc in each stitch around. Join with ss to first hdc. (28 hdc)

Rounds 5-7: ch 1. hdc in 3rd loop in each stitch around. Join with ss to first hdc. (28 stitches)

Rounds 8-9: ch 1. hdc in each stitch around. Join with ss to first hdc. (28 stitches)

Round 10: ch 1. sc in each stitch around. Join with ss to first sc. (28 stitches)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

The Crochet Fall Cup Cozy makes a great gift! I used this free template, printed it onto kraft card stock, and cut it out. I slipped the cup cozy onto the template and tucked a gift card behind the cozy. I put it into a cellophane bag and tied it with a ribbon for gift giving.
