Hi friends,
It’s hard to believe we are at the beginning of 2022!
2021 went by so quickly – it was a good and hard year all at once. Hard because we went through all the “firsts” after losing my brother in November 2020 – but good sharing memories of him throughout the year. I miss him every day! Life has continued on – as he would want – and although some days have been harder than others, we still had times of fun and adventure.

In May we went to Destin, FL for a week. Listening to the waves crashing, feeling the gulf breeze, walking along the shore in the morning and the evening, and even an occasional storm are all the things that make this place the perfect getaway. This has pretty much turned into a yearly thing for us. In fact, we have already booked this year’s trip! 🙂

Over the Summer, we added a partially covered patio to our backyard. We have been wanting to do this for quite a while and finally did it! This first picture is how the house looked before. The middle picture shows the entire patio. The last picture is the covered area with our little Mexican Cantina table for 2. Our favorite Mexican restaurant has these tables on their patio and my husband found that he could get his own on Etsy – he was so excited to find it! We still want to add some curtains to block the sun and some furniture on the uncovered patio – maybe a fire pit and of course a grill. 🙂 We also had new sod put in around the patio and are hoping it will survive this Spring.

In October, we headed up to Indiana to celebrate my Mom’s birthday and spent a few hours in St. Joseph, MI along the shores of Lake Michigan at Silver Beach. My husband and I both grew up in Michigan City, IN which also has one of the best beaches along the beautiful Lake Michigan. We love walking along the shore or out on the pier to the lighthouses.

On the creative front, I created 19 new crochet patterns (some finished projects are pictured below – the patterns are all free on my blog 🙂), made lots of handmade cards, shared some other fun crafty creations, and tried a few new recipes. You can see all the fun things by perusing my blog posts from the last year. I hope you’ll find some great inspiration for creating in 2022!

I have lots of plans for creating new things to share with you in 2022 and hopefully some recipes and travel fun, too…I hope you will come along on my creative journey with me!
