Christmas Filled With Love

Hi friends,

I love this little mouse! He’s one of several in the “A Little Mousy” stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. He worked perfectly to make a simple and quick Christmas card. 🎄

I stamped the little mouse with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored him with Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink next to the mouse. This sentiment is an older stamp from A Muse Studio and is discontinued. Use your favorite Christmas sentiment stamp to make your card. (This set has some great sentiments.)

I layered the stamped panel to green card stock and then attached it to a white card. I really like all the white space on the card – it puts the focus on the cute little mouse! And it’s so simple and quick to make!

This is my favorite adhesive tape runner for card making – and you can get refills here.

This is a great layout for making cards assembly-line style if you have a lot of Christmas cards to make. I cut my white panel of card stock to 3-3/4 by 5 inches and used my Misti Stamp Tool to stamp the tiny mouse in the corner.

If you don’t have a Misti Stamp Tool, you may want to add it to your Christmas list. 😊 It’s a great tool to have in your craft room! It’s especially helpful stamping larger stamps when they don’t stamp well the first time. You can ink them back up and re-stamp the image perfectly.

Happy Stamping!

We are still keeping hand sanitizer close by and this Crochet Candy Cane Hand Sanitizer Holder adds a little fun to something we all need to do. 🙂 It will also make a great stocking stuffer or a cute little friend or neighbor gift!

It holds a mini bottle of hand sanitizer and buttons around your purse or backpack strap. It’s made with cotton yarn so it is washable (I used I Love This Cotton) and it works up super quickly.

Mr. & Mrs. Card

Hi friends,

Last month my handsome godson and his beautiful bride were finally able to get married! They had originally planned a May wedding – but then Covid. 😦 They had the most wonderful wedding at a beautiful venue in the hills of Tennessee. It fit them perfectly and I couldn’t be happier for them! ❤️

I love this photo of the happy couple taken by her sister!

Of course the happy occasion called for a special card. I made this simple but elegant card to wish them well in their marriage.

I embossed a panel of white card stock with a flourish embossing folder. (This is a discontinued one from Stampin’ Up, but here is a similar one.) I attached the panel to a kraft card. I punched a heart from kraft card stock and also from white card stock. I embossed the white heart with the same embossing folder. I attached the kraft heart to the card and then added the white heart with foam tape. I stamped “Mr. & Mrs.” with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on white card stock and punched it with a label punch. I attached it to the card with foam tape and finished the card by adding 2 tiny pearls to the label.

This is a similar heart punch to the one I have. My “Mr. & Mrs.” stamp is an older one that is no longer available, but “congratulations”, “best wishes”, or even “love” would work wonderfully. The label punch I used is also no longer available, but there are lots of different options out there like this one from Stampin Up.

Although I sometimes use supplies that are no longer available, I hope my creations inspire you to take another look at what you have in your own craft room to create the perfect card or project for those special people. 🙂

Congratulations to the Happy Couple and Happy Stamping!

Easy Yarn Wrapped Wreath

Hi friends,

I was walking through the yarn aisle in Hobby Lobby and came across this wonderfully squishy Yarn Bee Eternal Bliss Yarn! It is a 7 weight jumbo yarn and was just too soft and pretty to not take home with me!

I only bought one skein because I had no idea what I was going to do with it. 🙂 Then I remembered that I had this 8-inch wire wreath frame that I had gotten at Dollar Tree – it came in a package of 2 for $1.00 and I thought it would be perfect to use with this yarn.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

It’s super easy to make this wreath! All you have to do is leave a tail about 8-inches long and begin wrapping the yarn around the wreath. I forgot to take a picture while I was wrapping (it went so quickly!), but just wrap around the entire wreath keeping the yarn close together. When you’ve completed wrapping the entire wreath, cut your yarn, again leaving about an 8-inch tail. Tie the end of the yarn to the beginning tail with a double knot on the back of the wreath. Using a crochet hook, pull the ends of the yarn under the wrapped yarn.

Tip: because the huge skein doesn’t fit through the center of the 8-inch wreath, I pulled out a long strand of yarn and started wrapping from the skein out – using the skein as the beginning tail. Then the actual beginning end of the skein will be the end of your wrapping. I hope that makes sense! 😳 You could also cut a very long strand of yarn (maybe 5-6 yards, I didn’t measure so I’m not exactly sure on the length) before beginning to wrap your wreath. If you’re using a larger wreath frame, the skein should fit through the center as you are wrapping.

Using 5/8″ buffalo plaid ribbon (this is similar to what I used), I slipped the ribbon under the yarn and tied a bow. I used thin black twine (I had the twine is my stash, thin ribbon would work great, too) to tie a 1.25″ jingle bell onto the knot of the bow – craft stores have jingle bells in their seasonal craft section right now. I slipped another piece of ribbon under the yarn on the back and tied it in a simple knot for a hanger.

I think it turned out super cute! And you should feel how squishy it is!!

Of course you could use a larger wire wreath frame or a styrofoam wreath form would work, too. The yarn comes in several different colors and ribbon choices are endless. I think it would also be cute with a snowflake hanging in the center.

I made two 8-inch wreaths with my one skein of yarn and have plenty left to make at least two more of that size. And don’t forget that Hobby Lobby puts their yarn on sale at 30% off every other week. 😉

Happy Crafting!

Blessed – New Fall Card

Hi friends,

Thanksgiving in the United States is just a couple of weeks away. It’s a great time to remember all that we are blessed with – although I try to remember that always! 🙂

We still have some beautiful Fall colors in Alabama, even though they are fading fast and Winter will be here soon. I love this Autumn Stoop stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. It’s the perfect image to capture some of those amazing colors of the season.

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored it with Copic Markers. I layered the image to orange card stock and then attached it to a white card. I stamped “Blessed” with black ink on white card stock and punched it with a label punch. (Here’s a similar label punch.) I attached the sentiment with foam tape and added 2 gold sequins to finish the card.

FYI – this is my favorite adhesive (and refills) for card making and I love this glue for adding small embellishments.

Even though this year has been so different, I hope you will take a moment to remember all the blessings that we do have!

Happy Stamping!

Crochet Star Ornaments

Hi friends,

I found this super quick and easy Crochet Star Ornament pattern here at One Dog Woof. It works up in just a few minutes and it’s free! ⭐️

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I stitched up my ornaments using Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek white yarn with an H/5mm hook. They would also be super cute in red, green, gold, or light blue!

I threaded a small (1/2-inch) jingle bell onto some red and white striped ribbon (similar to this), threaded the ribbon through the top of the star, and tied it in a knot.

These are so fun to hang on your tree or to use as a package tie on. You could also string them together to make a garland. What will you do with your Crochet Star Ornaments?

Happy Stitching! ⭐️

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

Hi friends,

Looking for a quick project to add to your Fall decor? This little Grateful, Thankful, Blessed sign might be just the thing!

I found my slatted wood panel at Hobby Lobby and it has an easel on the back so you can put it anywhere – it measures about 8 by 8 inches. I also found my wood words there in the seasonal aisle. There are options for words in other mediums like chipboard or metal in other areas of the store as well. You could also use a stencil and paint to add your words. 🙂

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I used Americana Décor Acrylic Chalky Finish Paint in Everlasting White to paint my slatted wood panel. I added 2 coats, letting it dry between coats. I painted my words with black acrylic paint. (Here’s a great set of acrylic paints if you need to resupply your craft room.)

After all the paint was dry, I used E6000 clear adhesive to attach the words to the slatted wood panel.

Here it is! It adds a little farmhouse touch to my Fall decor – but I can also use it all year long because the sentiment lasts much longer than just through November.

You can find the info on my cute little acorns in this post.

I am truly Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed that you are here! ❤️

Fall Treat Bag Tags

Hi friends,

There’s still time to make up some of these quick tags to add to treat bags for those special little trick or treaters who may be ringing your doorbell tomorrow night! Not doing the Halloween thing this year? These will also be fun as Thanksgiving favors at each place setting – even if it is just your immediate family. We all need to add a little joy where we can find it. 😊

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Pull out your favorite pumpkin stamp (mine is an older one from Hero Arts) and stamp it with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on white card stock. Color with Copic markers, trim close, and punch the corners with a corner rounder punch. Stamp the sentiment of your choice (mine is an older one from Savvy Stamps) with the Rich Cocoa ink on the pumpkin. Attach the pumpkin image to a scalloped circle punched from orange card stock. Using a 1/4-inch hole punch, punch a small hole in the top of the tag.

I used small square ziptop bags for my treats, punched a small hole in the top of the bag, and tied the tags to the bag with natural jute twine.

These tags don’t take long to make and add a little something extra to simple treat bags.

Happy Halloween!🎃

Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Hi friends,

Sweet potatoes are such a great Fall side dish! I have to admit that when I was younger, they weren’t one of my favorite things to eat. But as I’ve learned with lots of other vegetables, roasting them makes them so yummy!

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

We picked up a small bag of sweet potatoes at our local orchard. They are on the smaller side, not those great big ones you often see, so they are perfect to cut into chunks for roasting.

First rinse and peel the skins from the sweet potatoes. Then cut them into roughly 1/2-inch chunks, toss them with olive oil, and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. I lined a baking pan with foil and sprayed it with olive oil spray. Spread the sweet potato chunks in a single layer on the baking sheet.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Roast the sweet potatoes for 30 minutes or until browned and soft when tested with a fork. Stir them about halfway through the roasting time.

This is how they will look when they are done! The sugar in the potatoes comes out and helps to add caramelization for a slightly crunchy outside. They are so yummy!

You can experiment with the seasonings – chili powder, garlic powder, curry powder, or even brown sugar and cinnamon for a sweeter side dish. But you’ll want to toss them in melted butter instead of olive oil if you go for the sweet taste.

It’s just my husband and I so I used my Breville Convection Countertop Oven to roast my sweet potatoes. I used the pizza pan that came with my oven – it’s the perfect size to roast veggies for just the two of us.

I hope you enjoy this easy way to roast sweet potatoes!

Crochet Houndstooth Infinity Scarf

Hi friends,

I found the free pattern for this crochet Peppermint Houndstooth Scarf at Crochet For You and thought it would be so cute as an infinity scarf! The original scarf is made in red and white with pom poms on it and it’s so fun! I decided to make my scarf in black and white, but any 2 of your favorite colors would be beautiful!

Disclosure: Some of the links on my site are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I used Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek yarn from Hobby Lobby in white and black with a J/6mm hook to stitch up my scarf. I followed the pattern to start my scarf and continued until it measured about 65-inches long. Then I folded the scarf in half and slip stitched the ends together. I made it long enough so it can be doubled as you wear it. If you want just one layer, you can make your scarf about 30-35 inches and then slip stitch the ends together.

This is how it looks doubled up.

This is the full scarf.

Here’s a closeup of the scarf. I love how each side looks a little different!

This pattern works up quickly and scarves make great Christmas gifts!

Happy Stitching!
